Funded by: Amazon.com, Inc.
Status: Completed
An initiative under “Amazon in the Community”, the employee grant project is one of the various ways amazon executes its CSR responsibilities. This initiative adds greater value to the smaller non-for-profits by recognizing and supporting its work. In the employee grant project cycle of 2023-24, SAK had the privilege to implement its skilling program and reach out to the larger number of youth and women in the regions of Chhattisgarh it serves.

An intense three months training program was launched to empower the youth population where the vocations were meticulously selected based on SAK Foundation’s need analysis and the demand amongst the youth. Training was provided in three domains namely: Digital literacy, Cosmetology course and Tribal art forms, along with several other life skills and soft skills such as personality development, basic english, communication skills, and customer relations. To yield a productive result from the program, 1:1 mentoring was provided to the trainees by the master trainers. Upon the completion of the training program, the trainees appeared for the assessment cycle to certify for the desired skill and vocation.

The long term aim of the program was to bring forth an increase in the skill of the youth population and working towards the market readiness of the youth, which would further bring an improvement in the living conditions.
