CONSTRUCTION OF TOILETS

Under the aegis of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) CSR fund, SAK Foundation has contributed towards the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by constructing 100 individual household toilets in Surguja District of Chhattisgarh. These households come from economically weaker sections of society who were often subjected to diarrhoea and intestinal worm infections due to open defecation.

SAK Foundation also held awareness sessions on waste segregation, effects of open defecation and open garbage disposal etc. The organization with the help of volunteers hosted a series of behavioural change workshops to increase the sensitization of villagers towards recycling and composting.
