As per the sample registration Survey of 2011 Chhattisgarh had the Infant Mortality Rate of 48 as opposed to the national average of 44. The Sample Registration System (2007-2009) put the Maternal Mortality Ratio at 269 as opposed to the national average of 212. In order to spread awareness on Pre-natal and Post-natal care, SAK Foundation organized multiple health camps in the Surguja district, specifically for the women coming from rural spaces which have lesser awareness of the above topic
