Leadership Development Programme for Minority Women

Funded by: Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India

Status: Completed ( 2015-2021)

SAK Foundation implemented the Nai Roshni Scheme of Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, in Surguja District of Chhattisgarh. The scheme aimed to empower and instill confidence in women by providing knowledge, tools and techniques for interacting with Government systems, banks and other institutions at all levels.

This includes empowerment of the trainee women so that they become independent and confident members of the society. The overall objective of the scheme is to embolden the minority women to move out of the confines of their homes and community and assume leadership roles in society.

The foundation held sessions on the theme of Health & Hygiene (Health and Nutrition, Balanced Diet, Physical Activity, the importance of nutrition during various stages of life cycle, nutritional requirement, throughout the life cycle, infant and young child feeding, immunization, first aid, menstruation & menstrual Hygiene adolescent sexual and reproductive health, family planning, Government Initiatives for the development and care of children & w.omen
