RAHAT PROGRAM

SAK Foundation has partnered with Jiv Daya Foundation in order to prevent the stunting and wasting amongst the underweight students form the age group of 6 months to 5 years residing within the villages.

As a direct response to the problem of Malnourishment highlighted in the published Lancet study highlighting the disparities between states, SAK Foundation is partnering with Jiv Daya Foundation based on a framework for action in Village based intervention and programs. The framework focuses on the most effective option of preventing and correcting malnourishment in children by provision of Milk. The RAHAT program aims to cater to the hunger and rural poverty alleviation in remote and vulnerable regions of India.

Under the pre-school nutrition and early childhood development program, in addition to providing for the malnourishment amongst children, the RAHAT program also caters to the learnings of the students to impact their overall well being, health and cognitive development. A special focus is given to students from tribal, Dalit and communities that are marginalized with poor socio-economic status.
